About the Role
A global contract development and research partner is seeking a Business Development Director to lead growth initiatives across its integrated drug development offerings. With capabilities spanning early discovery, process development, analytical testing, regulatory consulting, and clinical research, the organization supports pharmaceutical and biotech innovators in accelerating their R&D programs and minimizing risk.
This role is ideal for a commercially minded leader who understands the complexities of drug development and can confidently guide prospective clients through high-value partnerships. Your primary responsibility will be to build relationships, secure new accounts, and position the company as a go-to provider across the CRDMO space.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic business development plans aligned with revenue goals and market expansion targets.
- Identify and qualify new opportunities across the biotech, pharma, and life sciences sectors.
- Engage with key decision-makers, including C-suite executives and technical leads, to understand client needs and present customized solutions.
- Collaborate internally to craft compelling proposals and presentations that address each client's unique objectives.
- Lead pricing discussions and negotiate deal terms, ensuring alignment with both client expectations and business priorities.
- Stay on top of market trends, competitor activity, and emerging technologies to guide outreach strategy.
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to expand brand presence and lead generation.
- Act as the voice of the market—gather and relay insights to leadership to inform service refinement and future growth planning.
Candidate Profile
Education & Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Business, or related field (MBA or advanced degree is a plus).
- 8+ years of experience in business development, preferably in a CRO, CDMO, or biotech environment.
- Proven ability to meet or exceed commercial KPIs and sales goals.
Skills & Attributes:
- Deep understanding of the drug development lifecycle and CRDMO service offerings.
- Existing network within pharma/biotech that can be leveraged to drive immediate engagement.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Able to thrive both independently and in a cross-functional team setting.
- Strategic thinker with analytical capabilities to assess opportunities and prioritize leads.
- Willing to travel for client meetings, conferences, and strategic events.
