About the Role
We’re looking for a commercially driven and technically astute Business Development Manager to support ongoing growth in the chemical sector. This hybrid role blends team support and direct sales engagement—making it ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, collaborative environment. You’ll help lead sales strategy execution, support team training, and play a key part in client acquisition as the team scales.
Initially, your focus will be on reinforcing the current sales function and ensuring consistency in customer experience and team performance. Over time, the role will evolve into a more outbound business development role with an emphasis on new market opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and execute targeted sales strategies.
- Proactively identify new opportunities within pharma, biotech, and related sectors.
- Manage and nurture existing customer relationships to ensure retention and satisfaction.
- Drive lead generation and convert prospects into long-term clients.
- Deliver tailored technical solutions that address specific client challenges and needs.
- Act as a liaison between customers, internal sales support, and supply chain to ensure smooth delivery of services.
- Maintain regular contact with clients regarding orders, logistics, and delivery schedules.
- Support team operations, knowledge-sharing, and onboarding as the team grows.
- Present capabilities and offerings in a clear, technically informed manner to a range of stakeholders.
- Handle inbound inquiries across email and phone channels.
Ideal Candidate
- Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a relevant technical field.
- Demonstrated success in B2B sales or business development—preferably in chemicals, pharmaceuticals, or biotech.
- Deep understanding of chemical sales processes and customer needs.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfortable with technical problem-solving and solution selling.
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and detail-focused.
- Confident working under pressure and independently managing time and tasks.
- Familiarity with MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and general admin workflows.
- Fluent in English, with experience dealing with international clients preferred.
